About
We are excited to showcase this micro-lot, Pink Bourbon from Luis Comacho's farm, La Palma! When we were tasting the new sample arrivals from our friends at La Reb in Colombia, blind, on the cupping table, this coffee stood above the rest. It was sweeter, juicier, and the citrus notes were just bigger!
After revealing the coffees and reading more about the nuances involved with processing, the amplitude of goodness makes sense.
Luis Comacho adds a little extra fermentation to his coffees which is likely why his coffees end up with more sweetness and depth. Try this coffee as a filter coffee or even espresso, we think you'll enjoy it!
Shout-out to Herbert and Matcha at LaReb for tirelessly sourcing coffee for us as well as other roasters!
More About The Coffee
Luis Edgar Camacho has 8,000 Pink Bourbon trees planted among his farm. This varietal stands out in every way – from the striking pink color of its ripe coffee cherries to its sweetly complex flavor. This lot was first fermented for 24 hours in water, then fermented without water for 48 hours, pulped, and then precisely dried for 20-25 days on drying beds. The meticulous processing delivers a balanced, sweet, clean, and juicy cup profile.
